Things you might not know about

Park City Lodge # 734

Park City Lodge # 734 is the third oldest Lodge in the State of Utah and they celebrated their 100th anniversary in 2002.

Much of the uniqueness is just the history and the Lodge it is housed in. They are a small Lodge with approximately 100 members. And, many of the members often wonder how they have managed to say afloat. BUT - they have with much thanks to a handful of dedicated, hardworking members. Even during the last 25 years, they have waxed and waned. Some of their members have certainly been productive a the local Lodge level, but Park City Lodge members have also managed to stir up some dust at the state level. From District Deputies to Utah Elks Association President -- names like Wright, Silver, Cooper, Jarvis and Butkovich come to mind.

In 1990, Park City Lodge # 743 held Utah's first "hotel" based State Convention when Park City's own Bob Jarvis was installed as UEA President. As it happened, Bountiful Lodge and its members presented the memorial and Brigham City Elks handled the registration It was truly a "State Convention". If you missed it, I'm sorry! It was truly an Elk event no one forgot. It was so successful that 3 more State Conventions were held in Park City under the same "hotel" based format...

...I am pleased and proud to have been and still continue to be, a part of the unique B.P.O.E. # 743. I expect Park City Lodge will continue to improve and do what Elks do, continue to show that
